Burnley v Liverpool – will they keep their perfect record? Premier League Match Predictions & Betting Tips

The last game on Saturday in the English Premier League is an interesting match as Liverpool go to Turf Moor to take on Burnley. The Reds are hoping to maintain their 100% winning start to the season, while Burnley are hoping to cement their place in the top half of the league table.

Burnley Betting Tips

Burnley come into this match having played in the League Cup on Wednesday night. They lost 3-1 at home to League One team Sunderland in what was a disappointing result for them. However, even though Sean Dyche did make several changes to his starting lineup, that result means Burnley have failed to win any of their last three games in all competitions. The 2-1 defeat at Arsenal was followed by a 1-1 draw at Wolverhampton Wanderers. Burnley will feel they could have got more from both matches, with the concession of a last minute penalty at Wolves costing them all 3 points.

In total Burnley have lost five of their last seven games in all competitions and have failed to keep a clean sheet in each of the last three at home in the Premier League. They have scored at least one goal in 14 of their last 15 matches. With only 3 clean sheets in their last 10 Premier League games at Turf Moor, it will not be easy for them to face the mighty striking force of Liverpool.

Although they are not the favourites to win, there is a chance of Burnley giving the Reds a tough time and seeing the back of the net. The odds for Burnley to win are at 17/2 and a bet we think is worth going for is for both teams to score in the first half at the odds of 7/2. Another good bet to try is for Ashely Barnes to score anytime at 2/1

Liverpool Betting Tips

Liverpool did not play in midweek as they enter the League Cup in the following round. Their last match came in the Premier League last weekend and Liverpool defeated Arsenal 3-1 at home. The Reds have had the better of the Gunners in recent years and it was no surprise to see them win comfortably at home.

That result means Liverpool have won all 3 of their premier league games this season. They started with a 4-1 home win over Norwich City and followed that with a 2-1 victory at Southampton. We fully expect them to do the same at Burnley this week. Liverpool are still without first choice goalkeeper Alisson and that means Adrian will continue in goal, so Burnley have the potential to cause Liverpool problems in this game where they should find the back of the net, but keeping the visitors out is going to be a problem for them.

The bookies odds are in favour of a Reds win at 3/10. A better odds selection with a likely outcome is for Liverpool to win and both teams to score at odds of 17/10. A couple of good goalscorer bets is for Salah to score in the first goal at 3/1 and Mane to score anytime is at 21/20.
